Recorded live at Lowlands Bar in Brooklyn with Walter Stinson (bass) and Kayvon Gordon (drums), the two-part set was reshaped through studio overdubs and extensive post-production, making it the series' culmination. Part One is pure saxophone maximalism: torrents of notes in the spirit of Coltrane's "sheets of sound" over metrically intricate bass and drums, with abrupt edits and superimposed takes. Part Two moves into ambient, meditative territory, including a bass choir of five or six overdubbed basses, a chorus of multitracked slap-tongued saxophone on "DEATH BY FROGS," and a ghostly, echo-only abstraction of the finale of Chopin's Piano Sonata No. 2.

Incredible new 12-CD hardback book edition, includes previously unheard material, rarities, new interviews and historic live performances

Composed after Predescu's move to New York in the wake of the pandemic, Basme retells the stories his parents and elders passed down: emigrating from Romania in the 1990s, growing up under Ceaușescu, and surviving the violent 1989 revolution. Predescu draws together modern jazz, free improvisation, pop and singer-songwriter melody, and the folk traditions of Romania, Hungary, and Eastern Europe.

The complete concert from June 1986. • Newly mixed from the original multi-track master tapes. • Featuring nine previously unreleased tracks.

Vinyl re-release. From what I found out so far, it's not a new master.
