How It Works
Everything you need to find recordings worth hearing, in one place
TrueResAudio is built around five recurring editorial threads: Reviews, Radar, Index, Editorial, and Dispatch.
Each one supports a different part of discovery, from finding new recordings to choosing the editions worth your time.
We, serious listeners, are always looking. For the recording that finally does a piece of music justice. For the edition that sounds the way the original session must have felt. For the reissue that surfaces something we missed, or the new release that earns a permanent place in the library.
It is an amazing and rewarding journey. One we never want to end. But we want it to deepen. New releases, overlooked catalogue, reissues that finally get a recording right, editions that sound the way the music was meant to sound. We want more of that.
TrueResAudio exists to help you discover more recordings worth living with, choose editions more confidently, and build a richer listening life.
It starts with Reviews. Every review I write covers both the music and the sound. Is the performance worth your time? Does the edition you are buying do it justice? I answer both questions every time, and I give you a clear verdict at the end. Not a number. A position.
Radar runs alongside it. Where Reviews go deep, Radar moves fast. I flag new releases worth noting, reissues coming up, label developments worth knowing about, and sales with specific picks and recommendations. A lot of worthwhile music passes by every week. Radar filters it down to the releases, reissues, and discoveries genuinely worth your attention.
The Index handles a different problem. The same recording often exists in several digital editions, and they do not all sound the same. For each recording I cover, I listen to every major edition and tell you what each one delivers and who it suits. Not a ranking. A guide built around your taste, not an objective verdict.
Editorial is where the thinking gets more room. Features, essays, and interviews that go deeper into recordings, labels, and listening culture. No verdicts, no recommendations. The kind of writing that changes how you hear the music you already love.
The Dispatch ties it all together. Every two weeks I write to every member: a personal reflection, what has been on the turntable beyond the site, and a full TrueResAudio rundown.
