Editorial Submissions

I consider selected releases and, occasionally, equipment for editorial coverage at TrueResAudio.

Everything is reviewed personally, in my own listening room, and inclusion is never guaranteed. That is not a reflection of quality. It is a reflection of editorial focus and time.

Releases

To consider a release for review, I need access to a downloadable lossless version of the album. A streaming link alone is not sufficient. That is not about format snobbery. It is about being able to spend proper time with the recording and evaluate it in a consistent listening environment.

If you would like me to consider a release, please include:

  • A download link to the full album in lossless format
  • Basic release information: artist, title, release date, etc.
  • Any relevant notes on the recording, mastering, or production history

Also useful, though not required:

  • High-resolution artwork
  • Context around the release: new recording, reissue, remaster, and so on

Submissions without a downloadable version will not be considered.

Equipment

Equipment coverage at TrueResAudio is selective and infrequent. 2 When I do cover equipment, it is because something has caught my attention that feels genuinely relevant to a lossless listening setup. That means components that directly shape how recordings sound: headphones, DACs, speakers, amplification in the context of music playback. The question I am asking is always the same one I ask of a recording: does this serve the music?

This is not a general audio equipment publication. I am not interested in gear for its own sake, and coverage will never drift into the wider world of audio hobbyism. If equipment appears here, it is because it belongs in a serious listening setup built around lossless audio, and because I have had enough time with it in my own system to say something worth reading.

Short-term loans are not workable. To write about a piece of equipment honestly, I need extended time with it.

If you are submitting equipment for consideration:

  • The unit needs to be available for long-term evaluation or as a review sample
  • It should be relevant to a lossless playback setup, not general hi-fi
  • Basic product information and context should be included

What Happens Next

I review all submissions myself.

Not every submission receives a reply, and not every accepted submission leads to coverage. Editorial priorities shift, and time is limited. Decisions are based on fit, relevance, and what I am currently listening to and writing about.

If your submission is a good fit, I will be in touch.
